Reiki
Reiki is a gentle, hands-near energy practice that invites the body and nervous system into a state of deep rest. Many people come to Reiki when talking alone doesn't feel like enough, when what they're carrying lives more in the body than in words.
Sessions are quiet and unhurried, offering space to simply be, without having to explain or process anything at all.
I offer Reiki as part of an integrative approach to healing, alongside the relational and somatic work I do in therapy. For neurodiverse people especially, Reiki can be a way to settle an overstimulated system and reconnect with a felt sense of safety, something that often has to happen before deeper emotional work can take root. Many clients notice they leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more like themselves.
Reiki sessions can stand alone or complement ongoing therapy. Each session is 60-90 minutes in length, held in a calm, private space designed for rest.
Reiki began in Japan in the early 1920s, when Mikao Usui developed the practice after a period of deep meditation and spiritual study. What he created was simple by design… a way of channeling gentle, restorative energy through the hands, meant to support the body's own capacity to heal and find balance.
The practice made its way to the West through Hawayo Takata, a Japanese-American woman who trained under one of Usui's students in the 1930s and later devoted decades to teaching Reiki throughout the United States. Nearly every Western Reiki practitioner today can trace their training back to her.
Since then, Reiki has grown into a widely practiced complementary wellness modality, one that fits naturally alongside therapy, medical care, and other forms of healing, rather than replacing them. What hasn't changed is its essence: a quiet, hands-on practice for helping the body settle, restore, and remember what it feels like to be at ease.
Reiki can be delivered in person or via distance, though we only offer in-person Reiki at this time. If distance Reiki is something you’re interested in, my Reiki master, Julie Goeltz, offers powerful distance Reiki to help rebuild your health and tap into your body’s innate healing capabilities .
