Psychotherapy & Counseling

Getting started in anything new can be overwhelming & also a relief. Maybe you’ve been struggling for a while, thinking everything would be fine in a few days... next week... next month... Making the decision to reach out is a big step. Take a moment to acknowledge your bravery.

So glad you’re here — all are welcome at Rosemary Collaborative.

Why therapy?

It may feel indulgent to pay someone to talk to. Maybe it seems like too much of a time commitment with everything else that's going on. Can't I just talk to my friends? Partner? Collaborating with a therapist offers much more than unloading on a friend or family member. For one thing, it's all about you. My focus is accepting you as you are - and processing your emotions, past issues, and present concerns, hopes and wishes in a safe and connected relationship.

Above everything else, therapy is about the relationship. In fact, the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client predict the most successful outcomes. I approach my clients with unconditional positive regard, quickly establishing a sense of trust and safety. We will collaborate, laugh, cry, and grow together. We'll find your strengths, and use the resources you develop to resolve what you're struggling with.

Rosemary Collaborative offers the following evidence-based psychotherapies:

AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)

AEDP is a powerful, gentle, and supportive approach that helps people heal at the deepest level. AEDP works from the belief that we are all wired for growth, resilience, and connection, even when life’s challenges or past wounds make it hard to feel that way. In our work together, we slow down and create a safe space to explore your emotions, uncover your strengths, and process difficult experiences. By tapping into your innate capacity for healing, AEDP not only addresses pain but also helps you reconnect with joy, vitality, and a deeper sense of self.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. Instead of just talking about the past, EMDR uses gentle, guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess difficult memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. This process can reduce emotional distress, shift unhelpful beliefs, and open space for new feelings of safety, confidence, and peace. EMDR supports your mind’s natural ability to heal, helping you move forward with greater freedom and ease.

Enneagram

Enneagram is a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. In therapy, it helps us understand the patterns, motivations, and core needs that shape how you see the world and relate to others. By exploring your Enneagram type together, we can identify both the strengths you naturally bring and the areas where you may feel stuck. This insight can deepen your self-compassion, improve your relationships, and guide us toward more effective strategies for lasting change. The Enneagram isn’t about putting you in a box, it’s about showing you the way out.

Mindfulness-based therapies/ CBT

Mindfulness-CBT blends the proven tools of CBT with the calming, grounding practices of mindfulness. Together, these approaches help you notice and gently shift unhelpful thoughts, manage difficult emotions, and stay more present in daily life. In therapy, we’ll use practical strategies to change patterns that no longer serve you, while mindfulness skills help you respond to life with greater clarity, compassion, and calm. This combination can reduce stress, lift mood, and support lasting emotional well-being. Individual & group.

Practice Specialities

Anxiety

You know the feeling - heart racing, chest pounding, mind going a mile a minute. It happened a few times and you thought “no big deal.” But it’s happening more, and in places like the car on the drive to work, in a meeting, while you’re teaching a class. Or you have a constant buzzing in your head. Your thoughts race from one topic to the next, and you feel like you can’t get anything done. You’re constantly distracted and depleted. You can’t remember the next thing you’re supposed to do, and your to-do list is piling up. Maybe you’ve tried some relaxation techniques on your own, or tried a few “Self-Care Sundays.” But it’s not working. We’ll get to the bottom of what’s going on in a holistic way. You’ll learn coping strategies while we look deeper at what may be at the core of the issue.

Sensory Processing Sensitivity (HSP trait), ADHD & Twice Exceptionality

Neurodiverse brains are beautiful and powerful, and also have specific needs. As a person with the HSP trait, I get where you’re coming from. Bright lights, strong smells, coarse fabrics, sirens nearby - feeling “rattled” when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time - needing to withdraw during busy days, into bed or a darkened room or some other place where you can have privacy and relief from the situation - a childhood peppered with sensitivity and shyness - feeling simultaneously overwhelmed and also unable to move forward & stuck - explosive or big emotions that feel impossible to process. We’ll slow down together and take time to understand your individual experience, process what it’s like to experience life with a brain that works this way, and celebrate the strengths our neurospicy brains hold.

Overachieving & Harsh Inner Critic

Things need to be a certain way. But there’s never enough time to do all that’s necessary. Or there’s a sense that you’re always looking to the next thing - life stage, project, achievement - and then that’s when you’ll feel less stressed and okay. Maybe you’ve been praised your whole life for being so smart, so capable, so able to “do it all” - all the while feeling like an impostor or that something is missing. Like you’re not even sure why you’re doing all you’re doing. I get it, and have been there, too. We will slow down together to understand what’s happening and make space for your core self to emerge.

Children of Emotionally Unavailable Parents

Growing up with emotionally unavailable parents can leave lasting gaps in connection and understanding, but it can also foster resilience, empathy, and valuable insight into your own emotional world. In psychotherapy, we focus on building and strengthening these existing strengths while gently addressing and healing old wounds. This process helps you learn to trust more deeply, express yourself more openly, and create meaningful relationships where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported in a safe and nurturing environment.

Trauma

Trauma can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, stuck in patterns we don’t fully understand, and unsure how to move forward. You are not broken, and you are not alone. Together, we will create a safe, supportive space where your story can be heard at your own pace. Healing isn’t about “getting over it,” but about gently reconnecting with your strength, resilience, and sense of self. Whether your pain comes from a single event or years of difficult experiences, we’ll work side by side to help you find relief, restore hope, and rediscover the parts of you that feel whole.

No matter how traumatic our histories, we are not just bundles of pathology. Lodged deep within us are dispositions for healing and self-righting, there for the awakening.
